A wonderful, talented man was taken from us far too soon. He was born May 14, 1951 to Perry and Carma Hymas in Pocatello, Idaho. Terry lived in California, Canada, Texas, Pleasant Grove, UT and Roy, UT.
Terry loved family get together’s; as long as they were at his house. You were always welcome there at any time. He was a master with the Bar-B-Que—ribs, chicken and giant hamburgers. Since he was a cook for the guide camps he was able to put meals together like no other. He was in the process of enlarging the kitchen so he could pretend to be Guy Fieri. Terry worked for Big-D Construction for 19 years. His beautiful craftsmanship can be seen all over Northern Utah. He made many friends while working there. Just a few of his jobsites: Micron, IRS, Autoliv, Snowbasin, Scott USA, Elkay, VA Center in Harrisville, Harmon & Sons, Donor Monument, Maverick Corporate building along with dozens and dozens more. Terry’s favorite vacation place was at their time share in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He and his wife, Wendy, spent as much time there as they could. They were Caboholics. Terry said, “Where else can you relax on the beach and drink a beer?” He loved it there. Other vacations he and Wendy enjoyed were Hawaii, Las Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, Denver for a Broncos game and some time in Wendover. He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his mom, Carma, Ogden, UT; his son, Nigel (Cathie) Hymas, Cherryville BC, Canada; his brothers, Kent (Nancy) Hymas, CA; Bryan (Susan) Hymas, Riverdale, UT; his sister, Jeannie (Leonard) Gonzales, Roy, UT; Stepchildren, Shane (Lucy) Nelson, Roy UT; Kassi (Dusty) Putnam, West Point, UT; 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his dad, Perry; his son, Jason; and his brother Roger. If you knew Terry, you were privileged, if you did not, you missed out. Terry would not want you to cry for him, but to celebrate his life. Don’t mourn for him, don’t shed a tear and know that he lived every day to the fullest and enjoyed his life with everyone. Per Terry’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. In remembrance of Terry, have a beer or 12!
